Naya began with two parents looking for a skin care product for our youngest son. Because his skin was delicate, choosing what to use on it each day called for special care. We were always looking for products that suited our needs, and found that many skin creams were expensive, even in small tubes. When something needs to be used regularly, that cost can become a considerable burden for a family.
That experience made us ask ourselves: what if we could develop a skin care product that suited life in our own home, in how it worked, how it felt to use, and what it cost? Together, we began researching, gathering our wish list, and using the small challenges we encountered each day as the starting point for developing Naya.
Finding joy in skin care moments
We wanted applying cream to be something our son would happily do with us. That led us to think about a light fragrance that could make skin care more inviting. We had a soft, subtle scent in mind, one that was not overpowering and would fit naturally into our family’s everyday life.
As we tried product samples, we paid attention to both the fragrance and the experience of using them, gradually developing a scent that felt like Naya. We wanted reaching for the balm to be a small, feel-good moment, whether after a bath, before leaving home, or during the day when our skin needed more moisture. After all, something we use regularly should be something we want to reach for again.
Designed around the little things in everyday life
Another challenge came from using creams in tubes. We often squeezed out more than we needed, or got cream on our fingers before applying it to the skin. While caring for our children and keeping up with things around the house, we wanted to make this step easier. So we began looking for a way to apply balm without having to scoop it with our fingers.
That idea led to Naya’s balm stick. Simply remove the cap, turn the wheel to raise the balm, and apply it directly to dry skin. When you are finished, twist it back down and replace the cap. These packaging details grew out of a wish to make skin care more convenient in real life, from using it at home to taking a break on a journey or heading out for a family day together.
We also wanted something we carried with us to feel good to take out and use. Naya was therefore conceived as a balm that would be both convenient to use and a pleasure to keep close. On a desk, in a bag, or in a little corner at home, it could fit naturally into everyday life: a small detail that reflects care for ourselves, even on days when there is so much else to look after.
Thoughtful quality at an accessible price
Because we started with a challenge in our own family, we thought of other parents who might share similar concerns. Every household has expenses to manage, from daily living and children’s education to many other necessities. We wanted to develop a product that put quality first while making the price more accessible, so that skin care could be part of an ongoing routine without adding too much worry about cost.
That intention has been with Naya from day one. We wanted to share our experience and what we had learned from caring for our own family, giving other families another option for their skin care. What makes us happy is seeing something that began with love in our home gradually bring a little of that warmth into other homes, too.
From our youngest son to the people around us
Today, Naya is part of everyday life for several members of our family. Our eldest son uses it on dry areas such as his elbows and knees, while their grandfather uses it to moisturize the skin on his legs after a bath. These experiences have shown us that each person may have different areas that need attention, but the wish to care for the people we love is something we share.
From two parents’ wish to care for their child, Naya has grown with the hope of making skin care feel familiar, enjoyable, and meaningful. It might be a balm we choose for ourselves, or a small gift for someone else, a way of saying that we are thinking of them and that we care.
